What is your mission?

My mission at Healthy Happy Sleep is to equip parents with the knowledge and skills required to lay a healthy sleep foundation for their child(ren). I believe the positive effects of learning to sleep well will last a lifetime! Healthy Happy Sleep is a place to find help, support, and guidance without judgment or guilt.

What makes you a sleep expert?

As a mother of seven children, I’ve experienced and overcome my share of sleep challenges! I am also a certified child sleep consultant through the Family Sleep Institute where I received one-on-one instruction with founder, Deborah Pedrick. Throughout the course of my certification I completed over 70+ hours of training and currently attend continuing education classes and seminars regularly. I am qualified to work with children from newborns through age 5, as well as multiples and children with special needs.

Do you always push the “cry-it-out” method to solve child sleep issues?

In one word, NO! I don’t believe there is only one right way to teach a child healthy sleep practices. Instead, I offer customized sleep plans based on what feels comfortable for you. Some parents and children do wonderfully with a few nights of crying, while others choose a more gentle approach. I support both types of sleep training. The recommendations I make depend on the sleep history, the temperament of the child, as well the tolerance level and parenting philosophy of the parent(s). There are dozens of ways to teach a child to sleep – it’s never a one-size-fits all solution.

Do you only work with babies?

I am qualified to work with children from the newborn stage up to age 5.

Whether you are a new parent, have five kids in tow, have multiples or a child with special needs, I can help you teach your child how to sleep well.

Should I really pay for sleep advice?

Obviously you’re tired of listening to everyone else’s advice and it’s time to find out what will really make a difference for your family. The only way to get the intensive support you need is to hire someone like me to hold your hand through the process. I have spent a lot of time, money and energy to learn about how children sleep so that I can share that knowledge with you! Also, the emotional support is worth its weight in gold. We will become fast friends, and I will be there with you every step of the way.

What does a child sleep consult look like? What if I don’t live in your area?

Sleep consults are typically done over the phone, via email, Zoom, FaceTime and/or via text messaging. After you purchase a sleep package, I’ll send you an intake form for you to fill out and email back to me. This is how I will initially learn about your child’s sleep issues and sleep history. After I receive it back, we’ll schedule a 45-minute phone call to go over any questions I may have before creating your child’s customized sleep plan. Depending on which package you choose, I’ll walk you through how to implement the plan and how to tackle any surprises that may come up throughout the course of the plan. Take a look at the different package types to get a better idea about how they work.

How long does it take to solve a child sleep issue?

It typically takes 1-2 weeks to see signs of permanent progress. Some kids take longer and some respond more quickly. Some methods are faster, and some take more patience on our part to see them through. In every case the fundamental difference is whether or not the parents are consistent. If you stick to the plan and stay in touch with me regularly, the amount of time it takes to see results will be greatly reduced.

Can you guarantee success?

As soon as we agree on a sleep plan, it’s expected that you will follow through and be consistent with your child(ren). Child sleep training is only successful when parents and caregivers stick together, stay consistent and practice patience.  It took your child months to develop unhealthy sleep practices, and it won’t be an overnight fix! Together we will show your child how to fall asleep, stay asleep, and grow to have many happy, well-rested days. My guarantee is that I will support you and give you the tools you need to be successful throughout the process.
